Gapco Gasoil Tank Project

The Gapco Gasoil Tank Project, completed on May 20, 2024, is a key expansion of Gapco’s depot in Port Sudan’s transit area.

This project added a 15,000 m³ gasoil tank to the facility, boosting its storage capacity and enhancing operational efficiency.

  • Gasoil Tank: A 15,000 m³ gasoil tank with a diameter of 34 meters and a height of 17 meters. The tank features a column-supported cone roof and is designed to API 650 standards. It is fully equipped with essential accessories, including vents, hatches, ladders, and drainage systems.
  • Piping Network: The tank is integrated into the existing depot infrastructure with dedicated inlet and outlet lines. It is fed by the depot’s gasoil pipeline and delivers fuel to tankers through the depot’s loading facilities.
  • Safety Systems: The tank is fitted with comprehensive earthing and lightning protection systems, ensuring safe operations.

This expansion solidifies Gapco’s ability to meet growing fuel demands and supports the efficient management of its Port Sudan operations.

Nepta Storage Depot Project

The Nepta Storage Depot, located in Port Sudan, is a state-of-the-art petroleum storage facility approved by the Sudanese Petroleum Corporation (SPC) on September 4, 2024. This strategic depot features advanced infrastructure designed for the safe storage and transfer of gasoil, gasoline, and fuel oil.

Key components of the facility include:

  • Product Tanks: Two 10,000 m³ gasoil tanks, one 5,000 m³ gasoil tank, one 5,000 m³ fuel oil tank, and two 1,200 m³ gasoline tanks. These tanks are designed to international API 650 standards and are equipped with modern accessories such as vents, ladders, and drain sumps.
  • Piping Network: A comprehensive system includes inlet, outlet, and circulation lines connected to transfer pumps and loading meters. The tanks are fed via pipelines connected to the Sudanese Petroleum Corporation’s facilities.
  • Firefighting System: The depot is safeguarded by a robust firefighting system, including a 1,960 m³ water tank, hydrants, and monitors, ensuring preparedness for worst-case fire scenarios.
  • Additional Facilities: Administrative buildings, access roads, and loading gantries complement the depot’s functionality. The facility is fully equipped with cathodic and lightning protection systems, ensuring operational safety and compliance with industry standards.

The Nepta Storage Depot is a critical asset for Port Sudan, enhancing the region’s petroleum storage and distribution capabilities.

With related Facilities: Complete Off-loading System with related Piping Connections , Pumps, Meters , and Off-loading Hoses, which facilitate Off-loading of 52 Rail Way Wagons simultaneously, Firefighting System according to International Standards, Civil Works includes: Buildings, Access Roads, Culverts, Pipe Supports, Electrical and Control System.

This Project is made to provide a huge Strategic Storing Facilities. As per the National Plan of the Country; Port Sudan Strategic Depot Project is made to grant very smooth flow of all the specific Products. It is mainly constructed to face the increasing demand for Fuel Petroleum Products (Fuel). The Depot consists of the following capacities

7 Nos. LPG Spheres, each of 3,000 m3 Capacity

4 Nos. Vertical Tanks for Gas Oil, each of 20,000 m3 Capacity

2 Nos. Floating Roof Tank for Gasoline, each of 10,000 m3 Capacity

1 No. Floating Roof Tank for Gasoline of 50,000 m3 Capacity

2 Nos. Vertical Tanks for JET A, each of 10,000 m3 Capacity

The Depot is provided with a complete Firefighting System constructed according to the related International Standards. A total of 50 km of 2 directional Pipes (main) Lines to connect the Depot-with-the Sea Vessels. The Project is fully controlled by TAMAS
